So as you probably know I have recently opened an Organic Salon in Forster NSW. After leaving Hairdressing 11 years ago, primarily because of my awareness of the nasty chemicals used in the Salon, I am now back. Why you may ask?

A lot has changed in the last 11 years and my new Salon is FREE of the major nasties. No Ammonia, Sulphates, Parabens, Resorcinol, Toluene, Formaldehde, Acetone etc...

This means that blossom organic Hair Beauty Wellbeing is a NO STINK Salon, woohoo, as well as our clients having shinier, healthier hair, win, win!

I am still surprised at how many people are unaware of the health implications of the products that they use on their hair and skin. Many would worry if they actually new what was in that product that the Hairdresser or Beauty Therapist was using on them. Here at blossom, once again we have taken all the hard work out of it , just for you. Rest assured that we only use Organic and Natural products that are free of the nasties. All products are Cruelty Free and most are Aussie made.

Better for you, better for us and better for the environment.

Pucker Up and Dye? Not Me!

So, you've just switched your favourite conventional lippy to one of those groovy, brand new natural ones that are full of natural ingredients and your feeling pretty damn good. After all, you eat healthy, avoid synthetic colours, flavours and preservatives. Converting your cosmetics is the next step really isn't it?

The reason you bought that new lippy is that it ticks all the boxes:

Vegan - tick (no crushed up carmine/cochineal beetle shell)

Palm Oil Free - tick (saving the Orangutans)

No Synthetic Fragrance - tick

Johnson & Johnson and Cancer

More than two years after leading health and parents' groups asked Johnson & Johnson to reformulate its flagship baby shampoo 'No More Tears', to remove a cancer-causing chemical,(i) the company is still using formaldehyde-releasing preservatives in Johnson's Baby Shampoo in some countries (including AUSTRALIA), while formulas sold in other countries are free of these chemicals, according to this analysis conducted by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. The Environmental Working Group's 'Campaign For Safe Cosmetics', which blossom is a member of, found that Johnson's Baby Shampoo sold in the United States, Australia, Canada, China and Indonesia contains quaternium-15, while Johnson's Baby Shampoo sold in Denmark, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Sweden and the U.K. contain non-formaldehyde preservatives.
